A Game by Westane, Inspired by Wandrer
Greetings everyone!
Version releases are always a bit of a blessing and curse when it comes to devblogs. On one hand it gives me a bit of a break in terms of writing, but on the other hand I love talking about the development process! In any case, today’s topic is of course concerning the impending 6.2.0 update, so let’s just right into it!
The most obvious question concerning, well, any update, is what’s actually getting updated. In the case of Update 6.2.0, we’re looking at a bit of a housecleaning update needed to prep for John’s new content. Specifically, converting him/her to the new image handling functions, recombobulating the base serum structure to allow for branching paths, and tidying up whatever else we find along the way. I also like to use these updates to add some smaller QOL features whenever I can, be it in terms of direct functionality or speeding things up on the backend.
Here’s a quick look at what you can expect for this update:
Update 6.2.0 Teaser
Not too bad for a small groundwork update, right? Time-skipping options have been a long-requested feature, and I’m happy to finally have that available to those who want it.
In terms of a release date, we’re looking at two weeks from today for backers on September 26th! A public update is planned for the week following, and next week everyone should expect to see complete patch notes!
While Update 6.2.0 is providing a nice, clean, quick little update, the real meat lies in the subsequent releases that will kick off immediately thereafter!
First up is John’s Dominant Route update, aka, Update 6.2.1. While I’m not quite ready for a deep dive just yet, here’s a little preview of what you can expect:
Update 6.2.1 Teaser
It’s gonna be a fun one, especially getting to see Penny and Tasha in a new light, and I hope everyone enjoys what I have in store! We’ll be taking a much closer look at that content in October, and will likely touch (lightly) on what everyone should expect to see from the following Physical Transformation update as well!
That’s it for this week. Development is going uncomfortably smoothly on Update 6.2.0 and I’d be more than grateful if things continue this way! Artwork previews have been a little light, but Marketing Associates should expect to see a sizable post coming in the very near future.
As always, thank you all for your continued support and feedback. And, if you really want to get in on that feedback train, I highly encourage you to join us in the Official Discord! See you there!
