I’ve started listening to nightcore while I code. I’m not apologizing.
You know how, like, when you need to wash your car, like really badly, but every time you try to start something or someone gets in your way and you have to put it off another day. And like, as the days go by you get more and more stressed because you’ve had to keep putting off washing your car. And then, like, you finally get a day that’s totally open and you can finally wash your car, but when you go outside the rainclouds start rolling in, and you can feel the drizzle start, and then your car turns into a Decepticon and blows up your house before flying away?
Basically been one of those…
Heavy and haphazard construction on my street has guaranteed that I’d spend the better part of last week without power and/or internet until just a few days ago. It’s fine, we’re getting back on track, but it is what it is. It had gotten sporadic enough that gave up writing a dev blog altogether, opting instead to through my hands up in frustration before packing a bowl of The Good Stuff.
I am Jack’s inflamed sense of rejection…
So, despite claims and theories to the contrary, I do actually intend to finish The Company. In fact, I’d like to have the main story finished sooner rather than later! As such, I’m going to be keeping a close eye on how wide this current gets. Specifically, I’m looking at the date event which is turning out to be bigger than anticipated. My intention was to write these events true to form, drawing from the game’s earlier days. Doing so has yielded some meaty content, especially for Tasha fans, but I need to watch that I don’t spend too much time on it. Worst case scenario is that the event gets scaled back a little bit and revisited later.
It’s just going to be a matter of keeping an eye on things. Update 4.0.1 will be dropping towards the end of the month, and I want to ensure there’s a bit of content for everyone while still progressing through Chapter 4 story content. Once the big Thanksgiving Day event is finished up we can go in and fill in content where needed.
So that’s about where we are. Submitting to things we can’t control and working with what we can. The dev build is running late, but pending any surprise trenching it will “definitely” be out this week for those in the appropriate tier.
Thank you all for your continued feedback and support, and I’ll see you all next week!
