Dev Blog #128 – Daddy Made You Some Content

Greetings everyone!

Today we’ll be taking a look at the upcoming Thanksgiving event, specifically the new character that’s coming along with it!

It’s been an interesting road leading to up to the implementation of The Company’s newest (albeit temporary?) character, but we’ve finally arrived at our destination! Cousin Elsa will be making her debut in Update 4.0.3, set to drop next month.

She’ll be arriving Monday morning on the 20th of November, and staying with you through the Thanksgiving holiday. Since she won’t be around very long, players can expect her content her, ahem, more tasteful content to come hard and fast… hopefully like the players, amirite? Guys? Fine… Anyway, you’ll have plenty of time to cozy up to Elsa over the course of the week, as will the rest of the household, and the extent of that will depend on how you’ve been using your serums up to this point. It’s entire possible for the player to experience a quiet, innocent Thanksgiving if that’s what they really want, but then I don’t imagine that will be the case.

During the week, players wont be going to work and Ava and Dakota will be on their normal weekend schedules, you also wont be able to skip days, either. Additionally, all random events will be disabled for the week so you’ll have all the time in the world to spend poking around at the new content, as well as engaging Elsa in new scripted events, at least one per day! The scripted events are actually key to this particular block of content, as how you choose to proceed through them will have an impact on how the entirety of the event plays out, all the way up to and including the event’s ending. In fact, even whether or not Elsa actually makes it back home at all is something that will be in the players’ hands!

Finally, while the story will be front and center in this update, a couple other items will be getting address. Most importantly, issues with players not being able to unlock The Pit when loading saves will be resolved in the new update. I’ll also be using this opportunity to add starting from Chapter 4 as a feature for all players, not just dev builds. Aside from that, any other minor bugs and issues that can be addressed will be addressed.

That’s it for this week! I’m having a ton of fun writing this new content and I can’t wait to start sharing it with everyone! As always, thank you all for your continued feedback and support.
