Dev Blog #113 – Establishing a Connection

Greetings all!

It’s gonna be a short one today, so let’s just go ahead and jump right in!

Working While Working

In the interest of transparency, I’m finding myself in the unfortunate position of trying to develop The Company while also being pulling in about a hundred different directions and doing, well, a lot of everything! Never mind trying to find some mental stability, I’m also having to contend with juggling ALL THE BALLS! And not in the sexy way!!!

The finish line, or at least a major checkpoint, is in sight, so that’s something. That said, it’s not like I haven’t been finding time to work! Those on Discord have already noticed new commits hitting the dev build and I’m happy to report that the text messaging engine has been completed! I’m currently fleshing out Ava’s content within the engine and will be offering up the first dev build later today! It’s admittedly not a lot, but it’s been enough to start that ball rolling again.

As a reminder, the in-game texting system will allow the player to send various text messages to NPC’s they’ve unlocked phone functionality for, including pictures! This will add some fun new interactions between you and other characters, as well as a way to increase Affection and Corruption, and even unlock some minor content and images! When the update drops, you’ll be able to send and receive message with Ava, Dakota, Sophie, Penny, Chris, John, and Tasha.

With any luck, next week is shaping up to be the quietest week I’ve had in a very long time, and I’ll be using every minute of it to catch up! Until then, my weekend is more or less completely shot, so for now I’m just working to do what I can with what I have, in the hopes of regaining some sense of normalcy by the end of the year… maybe…

Oh and new artwork is going to be unveiled soon, too! Lisa, Tory, and even a cleaned up Diana!

Anyway, that’s it for this week, I told you it would be a short one. I can’t apologize enough for the sudden turn things took over the last month, but while I work through I really can’t thank you all enough for your support. Until next week!
